Life and Career of Rev F. F. Weissgerber (Frederick Ferdinand)

Born February 23, 1815, early at 7 o’clock at Meuselwitz
3rd of 6 sons.
Father: Christian Gottfried Weissgerber, coppersmith
Mother Johanne Sophie Weissgerber, née Fritsche
From 1830 to 1835 attended school (Gymnasium)
Obtained a scholarship to study theology at Jena in
1849 and 1850 in Altenburg, preacher and representative in the Altenburger council

immigrated to the US 5 Aug 1851

Married Caroline Sophia (sometime before Henry's birth, ca. 1854, but after 1851 he immigrated alone)
Children: Henry [died young], August, Louis, Caroline, Earnest, William, Emma, Bertha, Fredrick, and Franklin (10 in all)

Member of the Evangelical Synod of the West 1854-1872. Rev W is mentioned in "Friedensbote" from 1855-1871. Note: Rev W was president of the Eastern District of the Evangelical Synod of the West from ca 1859-1863, perhaps longer.
Listed in Evangelical Lutheran Almanac as being in the German Maryland Synod from 1872 - 1878.
Was member of the Wartburg Synod from 1879-1886. (Synod was formed in 1875)
It seems to have been more conservative and thus there may be records in the LCMS not in ELCA.
Died: Sept 8, 1886 at Wine Hill, Illinois,
